The Honeyboys

    2017 ECMA nominees The Honeyboys are a blues band based in Saint John, New Brunswick. We play the blues: originals, the Chicago greats, and reimagined songs from other places on the musical map by Duke Robillard, Tom Waits, Son House, Bob Dylan, Howlin’ Wolf, Hank Ballard, Little Willie John, and many more. Grant Heckman (vocals, guitar) has played with a number of Ontario-based blues bands, including Blue Monday and Wild Blues Yonder, and has performed with artists such as Dan Aykroyd, Donnie Walsh (Mr. Downchild), Avril Lavigne, Gene Taylor (Fabulous Thunderbirds), and Jay Semko (Northern Pikes). Grant has produced a number of recordings, including the Juno nominated CD Rites of Passage by Georgette Fry, and is co-author with Jim Garrard of the Dora-nominated musical Sir John, Eh? Fred Stilwell, a frequent performer at the Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival, has played with luminaries such as Dutch Mason and has appeared on bills with the likes of Duke Robillard and Big Bill Morganfield. Terry Patterson drums with ECMA winner Theresa Malenfant and with The Instigators. He has performed with Garrett Mason, Dutch Mason, Matt Andersen, Charlie A’Court and many others. Mike Hanlon plays with Theresa Malenfant and The Instigators, and has worked with Jessica Rhaye and Debbie Adshade, among many others. Mike has played shows with artists such as Creedence Clearwater Revival and David Wilcox.
