And the winner is...

We are incredibly proud to share that the AREA 506 Waterfront Container Village was presented with the VIA Rail Canada Innovator of the Year Award at this week’s Canadian Tourism Awards. We are thrilled to have represented this province and to have received acknowledgement on a national stage. The response has been truly overwhelming.

It takes a village to build a Village, and so the AREA 506 team would like to extend sincere thanks to our Funding Partners at ACOA — APECA, Wayne Long, MP, the Government of New Brunswick Regional Development Corporation and the Department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture, especially Rose Arsenault for her tireless work on the nominations; our Strategic Partners at Port Saint John and Envision Saint John: The Regional Growth Agency; the Tourism Industry Association of Canada and VIA Rail Canada for the award presentation; all of the local partners, supporters, entrepreneurs and artisans who worked together to bring the Village to life, and to our adventurous vendor community for the leaps of faith and their dedication in this first season.
