If you’ve visited the Waterfront Container Village this season, you’ve seen the results of this project. When you enter the Village through the gates at the Princess St. end of the space — near the food truck area and our really clean washrooms — you’ll now be treated to this beautiful, colourful experience thanks to a partnership with Fabiola Martinez Art, one of more than a dozen new art installations that you’ll find throughout the Village this season.
We asked Fabi to tell us about it:
“Creating New Forms” is a mural initiative by Fabiola Martinez that connects public art with the community through engaging art education, enhancing our urban scenery.
Special thanks go out to the Arts and Culture Branch of the Government of New Brunswick through the Artist in Schools Program, which enabled 50 students from Rothesay High School to participate in the creation and completion of this public artwork.
We also extend our gratitude to the students from KVHS for their contributions to this beautification project and all of the students from De las Artes School of Arts who are always ready to help.
