Village Artists: Mique Michelle

Our final artist, thanks to our partnership with Festival Inspire, is the amazing Mique Michelle!

Mique is a queer, Franco-Ontarian graffiti artist from West Nipissing, whose work can be found all around the world. You’ll find her mixed-media pieces everywhere — from galleries to public spaces and outdoor walls — each one telling its own story.

But there’s more to Mique than her art. She uses graffiti as a powerful tool to raise awareness about the oppression faced by both visible and invisible minorities. She believes that murals, like all elements of hip hop, have the power to offer solutions and challenge discrimination.
